At just three, Momsen acted professionally in an Shake and Bake commercial on national television in 1997. Momsen's profession was put on hold for three years before she got the lead role in the film Misconceptions. Momsen did also appear at that time in Saving Shiloh (2006). She auditioned as well for the role of Hannah Montana's title character Hannah Montana and was in the top three but it was given instead to Miley Cyrus.
