Zoe-perry

Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first appearance was in television shows as Jackie Harris, a character played by her mother in the ABC sitcom Roseanne. Perry did not decide to pursue acting as a career until she reached adulthood because her parents were afraid of the negative effects that stress could be a cause of. Perry stated she felt timid to perform at the age of 16, but she began performing at Northwestern University as a way to make friends after transferring to the university from Boston University. Perry left for New York, where she got small roles on shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Home sickiness caused Perry her back home California and theater roles were in demand. She appeared on Broadway in The Other Place with her mother in 2013. She performed with the father of her character Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in the year 2015 at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry appeared nine times in The Family, an ABC drama The Family, in 2016. In 2017, she had a minor role on ABC's thriller about politics Scandal that starred her father. The actress was also featured on The CBS show The Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The character was assigned by audition even though she is a relative to the role.
