Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actress, singer, and songwriter for many years. When she was a kid, Sara was racially taunted by a lot of Americans. When she went to school contests and received the highest praise for her singing, in ninth grade she began to feel more confident. This not only increased the confidence of her, but also changed the direction in which she went on to pursue her professional career. She was a graduate of New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993 she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. In the Broadway version of the original show Spamalot she portrayed The Lady of The Lake and was awarded the Tony Award as well as high praise from critics. The following year, she appeared as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC the show, she received more recognition. In addition to being a popular singer, she has released two solo albums and a longer piece. She's also an activist who fights to protect LGBT rights.
